Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
This policy explains how Edoble (“Edoble”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use https://edoble.in, contact us, or engage us for work. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
1. Who we are
Edoble is a software development company based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.
- Registered address: [TO CONFIRM] Full registered street address, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 603103, India

2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, company name, when you complete a form or email us.
- Project information — what you tell us about what you want built, your budget range and timeline.
- Recruitment information — your CV, portfolio links and anything else you send when applying for a role or internship.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, calls and messages between us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system and referring page.
- Usage data — pages viewed, time on page and links followed. Collected only if you consent to analytics cookies.
Client project data
When we build or maintain software for you, we may process personal data belonging to your users. In that situation you are the Data Fiduciary and we act as a Data Processor on your instructions. Those terms are set out in our agreement with you, not in this policy.
3. Why we use it
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal | Contact and project information |
| Deliver work you have engaged us for | Contact information, project data |
| Issue invoices and collect payment | Contact and billing information |
| Meet tax and accounting obligations | Billing and transaction records |
| Assess job and internship applications | Recruitment information |
| Keep the website secure and working | Technical data |
| Understand which pages are useful | Usage data, with your consent |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
4. Our legal basis
Under the DPDP Act 2023 we process personal data on these grounds:
- Your consent — for analytics cookies and marketing communication. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Performance of a contract — to deliver work you have engaged us for.
- Legitimate use — to respond to an enquiry you initiated, and to keep our systems secure.
- Legal obligation — to keep financial records required under Indian tax law.
5. Payments
Where you pay us online, the payment is processed by a licensed payment aggregator such as PayU, Razorpay or Cashfree.
We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials. Those are entered directly with the payment provider on their own secure infrastructure. We receive only a transaction reference, the amount, the status and the payment method type, which we need in order to reconcile your invoice.
Your payment provider handles that data under its own privacy policy and is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where it is necessary, and only with:
- Service providers we rely on to operate — hosting, email delivery, and payment processing. Each is bound to protect the data and use it only for the service they provide us.
- Professional advisers — our accountant or legal advisers, where required.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
- A successor — if the business is sold or merged, under the same protections set out here.
Some providers store data outside India. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the data remains protected to the standard described here.
7. How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that did not become projects | 24 months from last contact |
| Client project records | Duration of the engagement, then 3 years |
| Invoices and financial records | 8 years, as required by Indian tax law |
| Unsuccessful job applications | 12 months, unless you ask us to keep them longer |
| Website analytics | 14 months |
When a retention period ends we delete the data or irreversibly anonymise it.
8. How we protect it
- The site is served over HTTPS with a valid certificate.
- Access to client data is limited to team members who need it for their work.
- Accounts on our systems use strong, unique credentials.
- Backups are taken regularly and stored securely.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you have the right to:
- Access — ask what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it.
- Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data, where we are not required to keep it.
- Withdraw consent — as easily as you gave it. This does not affect anything done before you withdrew.
- Nominate — appoint someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us and receive a response.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
Grievance Officer
If you are not satisfied with our response, contact our Grievance Officer at [email protected], marking your message “Grievance — Data Protection”. If we do not resolve it, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work, and analytics cookies only with your consent. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
11. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
